Song of the sea .:chapter 3:.Dib sat there staring at Zim's motionless body for what seemed like forever. Then Zim's gills opened and his chest rose. Dib looked up as Zim slowly came around, utterly relieved. "D-Dib..." Zim murmured, taking in breath after breath. "You're ok now, everything's ok now." Dib put his hand on the glass and Zim pressed his forehead against where Dib's hand was. They both smiled, they would both look out for each other. "Let's get you some breakfast." Dib said, removing his hand and going to the freezer. "What'do want? Tuna, flounder, trout?" Zim thought for a moment. "Waffles." Dib frowned, looking over. "What?" "Zim wants waffles!" Zim half shouted. "Um..alright, I'll go pop some in the toaster and be right back.." He put the bags of fish back in the freezer and started out the door. Zim waited eagerly for him to return. He had heard someone muttering about waffles in the hall earlier and pulled himself out of the tank to tell Dib, but Dib seemed to be a heavy sleeper and Zim almost...
Song of the sea .:chapter 2:.It was a long, eventful day. Dib learned that Zim was just repeating whatever word he said that sounded right. This proved challenging when it came to communicating with him. He had gone to the store and got all sorts of fish, all raw figuring Zim wouldn't eat anything cooked. He got tuna, trout, flounder, even some crab. He put the food in a freezer that he'd asked for when he got home, so no one would get to the fish he'd bought for Zim. After getting him to eat some tuna he went online to research whatever he could about merpeople. He found a Wikipedia article of Mermen. "The actions and behavior of mermen can vary wildly depending on the source and time period of the stories. They have been said to sink ships by summoning great storms, but also said to be wise teachers, according to earlier mythology. Mermen, just like mermaids, can lure and attract female humans with their enchantingly beautiful, soft melodic and seductive siren-like singing voices and tones." Dib recited a bit of
Song of the sea .:chapter 1:.Dib awoke to the sound of his alarm blaring and his dad hollering at him. As he tried to register what was being said he shut his alarm off. All he heard was he was needed in some area of the lab. Getting dressed he headed downstairs, he would get breakfast later. He was stopped by some assistants, it was weird seeing them around the house once and a while but Dib was used to it. They gave him a V.I.P pass and let him through. As Dib neared wherever it was his dad needed him at he could see a soft glow somewhere in the room, and...singing? Yes, soft singing. It drew him in strangely enough. He then saw what was going on, a few people were huddled around a glass tank, talking about something. He just kind of stood there, listening to the singing, it seemed to be coming from inside the tank. Finally he was noticed, his father motioning for him to see whatever was in the tank. "Son, I know your fascination for para-science. So I'd like you to be in charge of this project." Membrane inform
